Motion for further stay of proceedings granted“Accordingly, the Court ORDERS this action stayed through August 18, 2022.” | agree with court The court applied the factors from Keating v. Office of Thrift Supervision to determine that a stay was appropriate. The order recites that no party will suffer prejudice and that the related criminal proceedings may impact the civil claims, which are standard justifications for a stay pending related proceedings. The decision follows from the cited authority and the facts presented in the status report. |
The order itself: sound — The order correctly identifies the relevant legal standard for a stay pending related criminal proceedings by citing Keating. It applies the factors by noting the lack of prejudice and the potential impact of the criminal case on the civil claims. The reasoning is sufficient to support the decision to extend the stay.
