Analysis
The court considered a motion for summary judgment in a civil case that was a companion to Greenwood v. Atchison, T. & S. F. Ry. Co. The court granted the defendant's motion for summary judgment, adopting the reasons stated in the companion case's memorandum.
| What the court decided | The model |

Defendant's motion for summary judgment granted“For the reasons therein stated, the defendant’s motion for summary judgment is ordered granted.” | unsure The order relies entirely on the reasoning in a companion case (Greenwood v. Atchison, T. & S. F. Ry. Co., 329 F.Supp. 105) without reciting the specific facts or legal arguments of the current case. While it is procedurally permissible to adopt reasoning from a companion case, the order itself does not provide the record necessary to verify if the summary judgment standard was met for this specific plaintiff. Therefore, it is impossible to determine if the decision follows from the law and record based solely on this text. |
The order itself: sound with gaps — The order is extremely brief and does not independently analyze the merits or the sufficiency of the evidence. It relies entirely on a cross-reference to another case. While the result may be correct if the facts are identical, the order itself does not demonstrate the application of the law to the specific record of this case.
