IN THE COURT OF APPEAL OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
SECOND APPELLATE DISTRICT
DIVISION SIX
THE PEOPLE, 2d Crim. No. B350263 (Super. Ct. No. Plaintiff and Respondent, 24CJCF06666-01) (Los Angeles County) v.
ALEASHA MOODY,
Defendant and Appellant.
Aleasha Moody appeals from the judgment after a jury convicted her of assault with a deadly weapon. (Pen. Code, § 245, subd. (a)(1).)1 We appointed counsel to represent appellant in this appeal. After an examination of the record, counsel filed an opening brief that raises no arguable issues. (People v. Wende (1979) 25 Cal.3d 436 (Wende).) On July 6, 2026, we notified appellant by mail that she had 30 days within which to personally submit any 1 All further statutory references are to the Penal Code. contentions or issues she wished us to consider. No supplemental brief was filed. In August 2024, appellant assaulted the victim, stabbing her one time in the side of the head with a knife. After the assault, the victim walked to a friend’s house to get help. Approximately one hour later, the friend called 911 because they could not get the bleeding to stop. The victim was transported to the hospital where she underwent surgery to remove part of the knife blade that had broken off during the attack and fractured the left side of her skull. The victim subsequently identified appellant in a photo lineup as the person who assaulted her. Investigators obtained surveillance video from the area that captured the incident on camera. During an interview with detectives, appellant made incriminating statements that were recorded and later admitted into evidence at trial. In an amended information, the Los Angeles County District Attorney charged appellant with willful, deliberate, and premediated attempted murder (§§ 664, 187, subd. (a); count 1) and assault with a deadly weapon (§ 245, subd. (a)(1); count 2). The information further alleged, as to both counts, that appellant personally inflicted great bodily injury on the victim (§ 12022.7, subd. (a)) and personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon (§ 12022, subd. (b)(1)). At the conclusion of trial, the jury acquitted appellant of premeditated attempted murder as charged in count 1 but found her guilty of assault with a deadly weapon as charged in count 2. The jury also found true the special allegations that appellant personally inflicted great bodily injury and personally used a deadly and dangerous weapon. The trial court sentenced appellant to six years in state prison, comprised of the midterm of 2 three years on count 2 plus three years for the great bodily injury allegation. The trial court struck the remaining special allegation in the interest of justice pursuant to section 1385. We have reviewed the entire record and are satisfied that appellant’s counsel has fully complied with her responsibilities and that no arguable issue exists. (Wende, supra, 25 Cal.3d 436.) Disposition The judgment is affirmed. NOT TO BE PUBLISHED.
